Heart Disease
Coronary artery disease is the world's leading cause of death — and it comes down to blocked arteries starving the heart of blood. Rather than bypassing or stenting a single blockage, FGF-1 is designed to grow the body's own network of new blood vessels around the blockage, restoring circulation to the heart muscle. This is the indication that first put Zhittya's science on national television.

Zhittya's theory is that reduced blood flow in the brain contributes to the death of the dopamine-producing cells behind Parkinson's. By delivering FGF-1 intranasally to restore circulation, the goal is to slow — and potentially reverse — the disease's progression.
